A clear, consistent and verifiable business identity is the starting point. Publish accurate information about the organisation and connect only genuine official profiles. Google creates Knowledge Panels automatically; a website or schema implementation cannot guarantee one.
Create an authoritative home for the brand
Use an About page to state the brand name, what it does, the organisation behind it and how to contact it. Distinguish a trading brand from its legal operator where relevant. Show the same facts to visitors that you provide in structured data.
Choose one preferred version of the name and one primary logo. Retain an internal record of approved contact information and official profile URLs so future pages do not introduce contradictory details.
Use structured data to describe real facts
Google documents Organisation markup as a way to explain details such as a name, website and logo. Add applicable facts, not aspirational credentials. Use official profile links for identity; a page that merely mentions the business is not automatically an official profile.
A useful implementation keeps a stable identifier for the organisation and connects relevant pages to it. This gives the website an internally consistent description of the brand.
Separate site readiness from Google’s decision
Google explains that Knowledge Panels are generated automatically using information from multiple sources. If a panel exists and you are the official representative, Google offers a process to claim it and suggest changes.
Our readiness checklist covers the information you control: accurate public details, a clear About page, consistent links and valid markup. Independent recognition and Google’s decision remain outside a site build’s control.
